Mechanics left a 33-centimeter work lamp within the wing of a Qantas Airbus A380. The ATSB revealed that the aircraft flew for two days with the work light inside before anyone found it. The 33-centimeter device stayed in the wing during those journeys as the Qantas plane functioned.
The Qantas Airbus A380 travelled to Texas and back while the tool remained inside the wing. Mechanics left the tool inside the aircraft wing during checks. The jet carried out its flights to Texas and back over two days before someone finally found the work light in the wing.
