Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Braydon Fisher was placed on bereavement leave Wednesday, giving him a pause after his dad, Don Fisher, passed away unexpectedly while traveling to see his son pitch.
The unfortunately death occurred during the hard-fought Jays' series against the Nationals.
The club quickly announced the leave immediately.
Fisher issued a concise statement saying his dad was an “amazing” man and that he is committed on his family.
He acknowledged fans for kindness and stated he will return to the roster when ready.
