cornwallwriters.co.ukThe private estate nursery is a private estate-operated garden center in Lostwithiel, Cornwall following a half-century expansion plan and new developments such as a newer extension, retail space, and Orangery restaurant. Prince William visited the site in July 2023 to view the nursery extension, glasshouse, and gardens. Duchy revenue funds the Duke’s public, private, and charitable work. The nursery lies within the Duchy estate and is part of a long-standing estate operation which began public access in 1975. Growth over 50 years has expanded the site. It is widely regarded as one of the South West’s leading nurseries. The Duchy nursery continues to expand facilities including a new extension while emphasizing nature-friendly horticulture.
