Qantas has dispatched letters or emails to ticket holders to about one million Australian customers.
The communication describes a $105 million settlement for flights that were cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airline reports the payout will be distributed to eligible passengers who lost trips and will be completed over the next few weeks in the near term.
that same day, Virgin Australia announced it still holds $93 million in unused flight credits still dormant.
That total was disclosed as the airline’s chief executive received a salary increase this year.
Virgin has not yet announce any plan to release the credits so far.
