On July 6, Canada’s federal public servants commenced working in government buildings five days a week. The mandate started without a detailed plan for how to make it happen. Unions said offices lack adequate space and resources for everyone to return. They also said the federal authorities gave no proof that working in offices more days makes things improved for the public.
The authority argued the changes will help small businesses get additional government contracts. Public service workers and media reporters still question if offices are set for so many people.
