An amateur skygazer using Google Maps stumbled upon a wide circular hollow in northern Quebec. Experts at Quebec’s geological survey authenticated it is a colossal meteorite impact crater formed around 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The scar on the landscape resembles other confirmed craters and indicates a violent prehistoric strike. Satellite images were mapped against field data to confirm the result.
