An 85-year-old man who disappeared from Harrietville on Sunday has been located alive. Jacobus Bakkum left the Harrietville Hotel for a short drive home. He failed to arrive. Emergency teams set up a search when he failed to finish his trip.
Search teams discovered Bakkum alive at a crash site near Mitta Mitta. That location is about 100 kilometres away from Harrietville. It was considerably far off. After finding him, paramedics transported the elderly man to hospital for an evaluation. He is getting treatment now.
