Reports in The New York Times and The Seattle Times covered the story. Buzz from the UK also added to the noise, with FOX 13 Seattle asking if other raccoons share the name. Local artists and tattoo studios quickly rolled out Jimothy-inspired work. Tattoo designs and illustrations appeared across the city. Comedy program The Daily Show also worked Jimothy in during its broadcast.
