Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli returned to the United States on Wednesday. They ended tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Around that same period, thousands of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa arrived back in Japan after missions tied to the Iran situation. The Tripoli berthed at its home port in Okinawa, concluding its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force concluded joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit freed a seven-day-old seal pup that was found by itself.
