Kingborough Lions dumped Melbourne Victory out of the Australia Cup with a 3-0 win at the Showgrounds in Hobart. About 3,000 people turned up and watched an A-League Men side get pushed around, the loss ending Victory's cup campaign on the spot. Melbourne City meanwhile had a far simpler night, beating Weston Bears 3-0. The two Melbourne sides now press on to the round of 16. Attention turns back to the league for Victory after a bruising night in Hobart.
