Meta is set to provide up to 18 billion US dollars to finalize legal cases from US states over platform addiction and risks to young users.
The historic agreement resolves legal claims from California and other states focused on teen addiction on its popular apps.
Under the terms of the settlement, Meta also agreed to significant reform measures on Facebook and Instagram. The legal pact resolves pending litigation in the United States involving claims over social media harms to children and teens.
