A plane from Air Canada skidded off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It landed, before drifting onto the grass and came to rest beside the runway. Officials shut that strip down immediately. Nobody was injured in the mishap, no matter how rough it felt.
That block stopped takeoffs and landings for hours. Cleanup crews brought equipment to the site. Others examined the runway for possible damage. Later that day, planes were taking off and landing again after the strip reopened.
