The Rugby Football League has launched an inquiry into Wakefield Trinity. Following this St Helens filing a complaint about a disputed bid for Harry Robertson.
In a statement, St Helens said it believes Wakefield may have violated membership rules. The RFL said it will review the details and determine if any violations occurred.
Team representatives have been asked to submit documents. RFL officials will meet club reps in the coming days.
The findings could impact deals as the league play continues.
