The Buffalo Sabres said they have re-signed forward Beck Malenstyn to a six-year $18 million $18 million contract, locking him up until the 2032-33 season. He stays put as planned.
Last season, Malenstyn tallied 22 points in 58 games, earning notice for his speed on the ice and strong defensive play. GM Keith Helgain said the club wants him as part of its future foundation. The new pact also gives Buffalo flexibility while banking on a local product to drive the rebuild.
