Highway 3 is blocked from Hope to Manning Park, disrupting local traffic. Wildfire activity rendered both lanes blocked, suspending travel. Travellers now only use the Coquihalla Highway, skipping the closure. The fire near Hope burns northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, sending thick smoke. Smoke is thick and easy to see, reducing visibility. A second blaze broke out south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire covers 300 hectares. It compelled officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now impeded.
