Bandai Namco revealed the Mobile Suit Gundam RG model and the RG Project vision on July 23, 2026. Filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama will take the helm for the upcoming anime, scheduled to premiere in 2027. The project creates a brand-new Gundam universe, entirely distinct from prior canon. The XARX-ZERO is tied to the forthcoming Gundam Rogue Orbit project. Kamiyama is working to construct a original timeline for the series.
