A 93-year-old Naalehu woman was found dead following Hurricane Lala. Police confirmed the Hawaii island woman killed during Lala.
Several homes on the Big Island were ruined by a mud flow from Lala. Lala left Hawaii communities buried in mud, communication cut off. More than 57,000 Hawaii customers remain without electricity. The storm wrecked a cemetery, setting off a hunt for the dead. One Naalehu resident prayed fervently with her dog as the storm came in darkness with no power and no cell service.
