The Rugby Football Union intends to hand England head coach Steve Borthwick an extended contract. The planned agreement would keep him in charge beyond the 2027 Rugby World Cup and past the 2028 Six Nations.
Borthwick would lead England at both competitions under the planned deal. His time in charge would continue after the next men's Rugby World Cup, and then through England's Six Nations campaign the following year.
The new contract would leave him in charge after the 2028 tournament had ended.
