Turkey executed eight months and $120 million rebuilding a vital military airport runway for Donald Trump's new Boeing 747 Air Force One. The upgrade also included new pavement, lighting fixtures and navigation aids which improve safety. The jet was donated by Qatar, making the aircraft a diplomatic gift. It lacks advanced defensive countermeasures, drawing criticism among defence analysts, who said the omission leaves the aircraft vulnerable concisely.
In parallel, a Queensland hotel nearby is putting an abandoned Boeing 747, giant and previously at Valencia Airport once, up for auction. The Queensland auction lists a starting bid of A$1 million minimum. The plane is large and heavy by design, and the sale may attract interest possibly from collectors and hobbyists.
